Ah, the media circus

No link just a comment. I think that we will in this country get what we deserve. Growing up in upstate New York I thought the rest of the world was enlightened and educated- aware of our common history and civic responsibilites and duties ( sounds like a text book) But just as I realized and have been reminded of lately, Common sense is not so common.

I think that we now have wonderful grounds to examine the agrument that we are the victims of the dumming down of America. We are a country that is proud to be stupid. Born of brave and daring explorers we have become a nation of inbreeding narrow minded, I don't care what happens out side of my 4 block area around my house- idiots.

God forbid we might step outside of what we think we know and experience a little of what we truely don't know. How the hell have we exisited as a people so far? Because someone actually was interested in something other than themselves???

I can understand a desire to live a simple life, I think we all yearn for that from time to time, but do we really desire to have a simple mind??? I hope not.

The day I stop wondering about this fascinating and mysterious world and the varied and interesting people in it who are not Just like me, the day I stop being curious about life all around me and beyond what I know now, the day that happens, will someone please put me into my original packing material and ship me back? Cause as far as I'm concerned, life isn't worth living if you reach the point where you know it all, or if you even think you do.
