DNC sent email asking for our story, here's what I sent

I have been laid off twice in the last 5 years. I am a technical writer with a college degree.  I have sent out over 2000 resumes and been on several interviews. The only techical writer jobs are 1 about every 6 months in our area.The interviewers all say that I have too much experience.  And the temp agencies are a joke, where you used to go in and they would have 5 or 6 opportunities for you at a time, I got one interview for a 7.50 hr receptionist job that 8 other people were interviewing for and I didn't get the job. Recruiters just want to show they are signing people up. They really have no or few jobs to offer.

I've spent my serverence, my 401k, all the unemployment I am entitled to, I've lost my house, my credit is ruined, I'm three months behind on my car payment, I beg them not to take the car every month. And I am a diabetic with no health care.I've had to move in with my sister, we're three people and three cats in a one bedroom apartment.Most of all I've lost my self respect, I've taken my (self paid for)college degree off my resume,so that I might get a 10 dollar an hour job, but still no luck.If someone tells you the ecomony is improving, they are lying. There are no jobs.

My grand parents had to move in with their folks and that was during the Great Depression in the 1930's, well this is the great depression of 2004.People who are lucky enough to still have a job and have had it for more than 3 years, don't have a clue what is happening.3 out of 5 members of my family are also out of work.

I can't explain to you how demoralizing this has been.  I am 43 and to think at this point in my life I can't provide for my family is distressing for me. I finally took a part time job at Dominoes pizza for gas money so I could keep looking for work. 
I know politics is about alot of well to do people running around saying they are going to fix things.  The first thing we need to fix is to change the administration. George junior has nothing but contempt for the average person. You can tell the way he sneers his responses to questions.  We need to wipe the smirk off Bush's face.
Kerry and Edwards are the only hope for this country. If Bush gets relected, I can't imagine what my family will do to survive.This is not the American dream, its the American nightmare.
Please, please vote for Kerry and Edwards, my family will be very grateful.
